The traditional Cheltenham painted shaker kitchen (pictured right) was part of a large renovation of a beautiful Edwardian property. Three rooms were opened up into a large eating and cooking space which incorporated bar seating, food preparation and a boot room housed in a stunning pitched roof extension leading to the gardens. A mix of furniture was used, along with a comprehensive range of appliances, all tied together with black granite and natural timbers.
The judges said of Chris' winning entry, "This is a perfect example of how traditional and contemporary can work together, the space was a challenging shape – working within the confines of the existing structure."
Ruth Ward of the KBSA said, ‘We are delighted that Chris has won this award, as it demonstrates that there is a place for the traditional kitchen, as well as the contemporary open plan social living space. As one of the judges said – ‘This is a kitchen!'"
